Position Overview

This position will provide support in state and federal grantmaking administrative activities. This includes preparing grants contracts, contract billings, project amendments, budget compliance and state and federal mandated reporting. This person will also maintain administrative files for federal and state grant programs and respond to grant inquiries from staff consultants, various officials and legislators. Essential Functions

  • Under direction, assists and provides support in managing grant projects under multifaceted state and federal programs administered by the Office of Grant Management and Assistance.
  • Participates in completing reimbursement documents and reviewing for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility of state and federal grant projects, utilizing Amplifund.
  • Maintains administrative files for various federal and state grant programs.
  • Prepares responses to routine oral/written grant inquiries from local officials professional staff consultants and legislators regarding various grant programs.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and metal development equivalent to completion of four years of college with course work in public administration.
  • Requires one year professional experience in a public organization or in a grants administration field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers two (2) years of working experience using the GOMB/GATA site or something similar.
  • Prefers working knowledge of grant administration, reporting, and compliance with the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) reporting within designated time frames and formats.
  • Prefers working knowledge of Amplifund – Grant Management System or a similar system.
  • Prefers working knowledge of SAP or a similar system.

DNR Agency Statement

Charged with preserving, protecting, and promoting Illinois’ natural resources, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) employees oversee water, wildlife, wetlands and oil wells, parks, historic sites – and everything in between. Office of Grant Management & Assistance

The Office of Grant Management and Assistance is responsible for managing and coordinating the Department's various Recreational Grant In Aid Programs to local government entities. These programs provide federal and state funds to enhance and improve recreational amenities through a competitive selection process. The programs include the Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) Program. This funds projects which will provide new recreational facilities such as parks and playgrounds. The Bikeway's Program provides for bike trail enhancement and development. The Boat Access program provides for new and improved boat accesses. The Snowmobile Access & Development program provides for new and improved snowmobile trails and trail access.
