Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) - Urogynecology
Now seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our urogynecology team. The CMA will deliver compassionate care to women with pelvic floor disorders. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a tight-knit, team-oriented environment and values close partnerships with providers. Responsibilities may include supporting patients and providers during sensitive procedures - such as bladder examinations - by offering respectful chaperoning, emotional comfort, and hands-on assistance to ensure a dignified experience throughout their care.
The Certified Medical Assistant / Registered Medical Assistant performs routine administrative and patient care support duties in a medical practice to assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensures that the office runs smoothly.
Responsibilities: Rooming patients: Collecting pertinent information regarding the patient's chief complaint, family history, social history, surgical history, and medication reconciliation upon arrival for a patient visit.Telephone Interactions: As directed, completing necessary telephone communications with patients, families, pharmacies, and/or other health care facilities. Gathering information and maintaining patient information via telephone per department specific processes and policies.Administrative tasks including, but not limited to, patient check in or check out, scheduling appointments, and coordination of referrals and testing.Office procedures as directed and per department specific competencies. May perform procedures such as bladder scanning, suture or staple removal, or steering patient to the care of a department nurse.Provide patient with written instructions regarding procedures, medications, or follow up instructions at the direction of the provider. CMA staff may retrieve and provide condition specific education from the internet, internal website, or printed materials per the provider directions and orders.Administer medications per the provider order.Provide assistance with prescription medication refills per department protocols. Call medications into pharmacies, notify patients of refills, and documents actions within the EMR per provider orders.Maintain department specific competencies related to point of care testing, equipment handling, and specialty training.Performs all duties of MA staff Completes RX refills and normal lab results from nurse work list Obtains detailed patient medical histories at prenatal intake appointments Administers vaccine and medications under ordering providers Can compound/dilute medication with competency testing by department educator Excels in customer service, team building and problem solving abilities Assist with intraoffice procedures such as IUD insertion and removal, insertion and removal, biopsies, and colposcopies. Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is $18.33per hour - $29.69per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
