General Description:The PM Steward i s responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas. This includes cleaning dishes, kitchen equipment, and surfaces, as well as assisting with inventory management and waste disposal. The Steward plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and hygienic environment, supporting the culinary and service teams in delivering a high-quality dining experience. This role requires weekend and night availability.
Specific Tasks:
- Wash and sanitize all dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
- Ensure all floors, walls, and surfaces in the kitchen and dishwashing areas are clean and dry.
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff with tasks such as moving supplies and organizing workstations.
- Ensure waste and recyclables are properly sorted and disposed of according to guidelines.
- Operate and maintain dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs for equipment and kitchen infrastructure.
- Receive, unpack, and store kitchen supplies and food items properly.
- Ensure proper organization and rotation of inventory following FIFO (First In, First Out) standards.
- Follow health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and ensure food safety.
- Handle cleaning agents and chemicals safely and according to instructions.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Ensure uniforms and grooming standards are met.
- This role requires scheduling flexibility to support a smooth transition to BRG operations.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment
- Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven and slick surfaces
