Job Summary

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all sanitation procedures across kitchens, pantries, and storage areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and health code compliance. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for staff and guests at the United Center. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing sanitation routines in a fast-paced, event-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day sanitation operations in all back-of-house areas including concession stands, pantries, warehouse, kitchens, dish rooms, storage areas, coolers/freezers.
• Monitor and enforce all sanitation standards and health code requirements.
• Supervise and direct the sanitation team to ensure proper cleaning, waste disposal, and equipment maintenance.
• Complete and submit sanitation reports and logs as required.
• Ensure chemicals and cleaning supplies are stored and used safely in accordance with health regulations.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs and inspections of workspaces to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with Culinary, Premium, Concession Management to address sanitation-related issues or violations immediately.
• Assist in preparing for internal or external health inspections.
• Train team members on proper sanitation procedures and safety protocols.
• Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook to manage reports, communication, and scheduling.
• Maintain open communication with kitchen and operations teams to support smooth execution of events.
• Perform physical tasks including walking/standing for extended periods and occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs).
• Flexibility to adjust schedule as needed based on event demands.

Qualifications:

• ServSafe Certification (Required)
• Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen sanitation and cleaning procedures
• Prior sanitation or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and leadership skills. Comfortable conducting sanitation pre-shift meetings.
• Highly organized with great attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Able to walk and stand for extended periods; capable of lifting up to 20 lbs
• Comfortable adapting to schedule changes and last-minute operational needs
• Must have open availability for all United Center events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
