Staff Accountant - Peoria, Illinois

ELM is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Accounting team in our Peoria, IL corporate office. As a Staff Accountant your primary focus will be to support the accounting needs of our ELM Utility Services operating unit. ELM Utility Services operates in a multi-state environment with operations in 12 states. You will work across the company building cross-functional relationships and becoming a valued business partner to the operations team. As part of a flat organizational hierarchy, you will interact with senior leaders frequently. Quality, organization, attention to detail, accurate work product, excellent customer service and a focus on continuous improvement are critical. this function will help to support the continued growth of our company. Generally, office hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm M-F.


Your specific tasks in this function will include:

»Lead monthly close.

»Account reconciliations, journal entries and account variance analysis.

»Prepare monthly financial and management reports.

»Manage fixed assets and leases, including related reporting.

»Prepare quarterly Customer P&L management reporting.

»Lead 1099 year-end reporting.

»Lead annual inventory true up.

»Manage company-wide corporate credit card program.

»Assist with annual financial audit & other audits as needed.

»Assist with annual budgeting process.

»Vendor data management.

»Provides support to our Purchasing Department and acts as a backup

»Assist with state and local filings.

»Assist other accounting team members as needed.

»Special projects as needed.



GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS :



»Bachelor’s degree majoring in Accounting, CPA preferred.

» 1-3 years practice from Public Accounting and/or Corporate Accounting functions.

»Proficiency in QuickBooks desired.

»Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

»Strong working expertise of Microsoft Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.

»Working expertise of Emburse Certify expense tracking software a plus.

» practice with fixed asset tracking software.

» capability to work independently, accurately and balance multiple conflicting priorities.

»Excellent verbal and written communication expertise, along with attention to detail.

»Strong interpersonal expertise and an capability to develop working relationships remotely.
