Quality Inspector

Salary: $20 - 22 per hour + none

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to support a precision manufacturing operation in Loves Park, IL. This is a hands-on inspection role requiring confidence with precision measuring tools, blueprint interpretation, and independent inspection decision-making.

This position is best suited for someone who has worked in a machine shop or CNC manufacturing environment and is comfortable performing first-piece, in-process, and final inspections on machined metal components.

Role Highlights

• $20-$22/hr , depending on experience
• Direct Hire opportunity
• 1st shift : Monday-Thursday: 6:00 am-3:30 pm; Friday: 6:00 am-10:00 am

What You'll Do

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections on machined components using micrometers, calipers, comparators, air gages, and vision systems (Keyence)
• Execute first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to verify compliance with specifications
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, bubble prints, and process sheets
• Accurately document inspection results in accordance with quality procedures
• Identify nonconformances and support root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Perform receiving inspections for outsourced or incoming components as needed
• Maintain awareness of inspection tool calibration and report out-of-tolerance conditions
• Maintain a clean and organized inspection area in line with 5S standards
• Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve inspection or process issues
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality and inspection efficiency

What You'll Bring

• Hands-on experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, comparators)
• Experience performing first-piece and final inspections in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints independently
• Experience inspecting machined metal components in a precision manufacturing setting
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment

Preferred:

• 1+ year of quality inspection or machining experience
• Familiarity with SPC concepts and inspection documentation
• Experience with vision systems or automated inspection equipment
