rRESPONSIBILITIES: This position functions primarily as an administrator

who provides leadership and direction for University payroll operations. Employees at this level are responsible for creating a customer service culture to support a University population of 5,000+ faculty, staff and student employees. This position develops and controls all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization\'s objectives and facilitates relationships with University employees and departments, internal and external auditors, vendors, regulatory agencies and non-University groups. This position provides additional support for an Assistant Comptroller.

WORK LOCATION: Macomb campus

APPOINTMENT: As soon as possible

MONTHLY WAGE: \$4,103 - \$4,513

Job Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Any one or any combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories:

A. College coursework in accounting, business administration, finance,

economics, or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

*30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)

*Associate\'s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18

months)

*90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)

*Bachelor\'s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36

months)

B. Work experience balancing payroll totals, and researching and

preparing special reports for senior management. 3. Three (3) years (36 months) of work experience assisting with all aspects of planning, operations, and control of a payroll office (such as Assistant Payroll Manager).

accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). The degree must be conferred at the time of application.*
