• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel/Contract)
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: September 15, 2025 – End: December 13, 2025)
• Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Hours per Week: 36 (3x12 hour shifts)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2000–$2050

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent operating room nursing experience
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active Illinois RN license in good standing
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Operating Room RN Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in the operating room and surgical unit, following best practices for perioperative nursing
• Implement nursing procedures and theories related to OR and post-operative care
• Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Provide post-operative care for complex surgical patients, including wound management and tracheostomy care
• Educate and support patients and families on new ostomies and wound vacs
• Collaborate with surgical residents and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to achieve positive patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and update care plans based on ongoing evaluation
• Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and correcting hazards
• Participate in professional development and offer constructive feedback to peers
