Computer Systems Administrator

We are seeking a Computer Systems Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our IT infrastructure and game servers join our Geometry Dash Lite company. You will ensure that both development environments and live game systems run smoothly, securely, and efficiently. This role is critical in supporting game operations, scaling server performance, and assisting the development team with technical needs. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain game servers, databases, and supporting infrastructure for GD Lite titles. Monitor server performance, uptime, and capacity; perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance. Ensure network security, including firewall management, secure connections, and regular vulnerability assessments. Collaborate with the development team to deploy updates, patches, and new game features efficiently. Maintain backup systems, disaster recovery plans, and data integrity protocols. Manage user access, permissions, and authentication systems for both internal staff and players. Document system configurations, changes, and standard operating procedures. Provide support for in-house development machines, virtual environments, and CI/CD pipelines. Optimize server infrastructure to handle high concurrent player loads with minimal latency. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role in gaming, SaaS, or high-traffic environments. Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration. Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Proficiency in networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and secure server communication (WSS, SSL/TLS). Familiarity with game server hosting and multiplayer network management. Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus) and logging systems. Scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) for automation tasks. Problem-solving mindset with strong troubleshooting skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in high-performance, low-latency online games. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes. Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes). Understanding of database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis) in a gaming context.
