Role Summary As a Substitute Teacher with Clipboard Health, you will work flexible teaching assignments in partner schools across elementary through high school levels (grades K-12). Our platform offers two primary types of opportunities:

• Shift-Based Opportunities: Accept daily substitute shifts through our on-demand education platform that match your availability and preferences, similar to flexible gig work
• Long-Term Placements: Take on extended substitute assignments that are frequently available for educators seeking consistent, longer-term positions

Note: Many educators use shift-based work to stay active and earn income while waiting for long-term opportunities to become available, while others prefer to wait specifically for long-term placements that match their preferences.

Whether working single-day shifts or extended placements, you will deliver instruction across multiple subject areas, develop appropriate lesson plans, and create inclusive learning environments that support students with diverse learning styles and needs.

Compensation We offer highly competitive pay rates that vary based on the specific placement, geographic location, and your qualifications and experience. All pay rates are completely transparent and can be viewed directly in our app before accepting any assignment.

Success in This Position Success as a Substitute Teacher is demonstrated through high quality work and effective classroom management across various assignments, maintaining positive learning environments regardless of assignment length, and building strong relationships with multiple school communities. You will excel by quickly adapting to different classroom settings and curricula, providing quality instruction whether covering a single day or an extended period, maintaining open communication with school staff and families during longer placements, and consistently meeting professional standards. Your flexibility and dependability across both short-term and long-term assignments will make you a sought-after educator on the platform.

Requirements

Educational & Experience Requirements:

• Prior educational experience
• High school diploma or equivalent minimum
• Some college coursework preferred but bachelor's degree not required
