Position Title: Sr. Data Scientist – Innovation Data Science

Position Location: 30 Frank Lloyd Wright Dr., Ann Arbor, MI 48105

Days / Hours: Mon – Fri / 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Summary of Duties: Work cross-functionally with digital innovation, technology, and operations innovation teams to identify opportunities for innovative tech solutions to improve delivery experience, shaping and guiding strategic business initiatives. Work to solve difficult, non-routine problems and develop Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence components of next-generation smart applications. Collaborate cross-functionally to understand data needs of different stakeholders across multiple business verticals, developing strong high-trust partnerships through transparency and incremental delivery of value. Own data science and analytical solutions end-to-end, from identifying business problems, crafting Machine Learning based solutions, socializing proposed architecture with partners, implementing solutions, tracking results and presenting to stakeholders. Spearhead research and implementation of advanced Machine Learning techniques such as computer vision, natural language processing, and reinforcement learning to solve complex business problems. Serve as mentor and consultant guiding best practices in code review, data processing, modeling, AI and ML development. Efficiently prioritize competing tasks in dynamic business environment. Develop strong understanding of business, challenges, and demonstrate ability to identify business opportunities that can be acted upon.

QualificationsQualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related computational field of study and 5 years of progressive experience in Data Science, Data Analysis, or Software Development. Employer will also accept a Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field of study and 2 years of experience in Data Science, Data Analysis, or Software Development in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 5 year of progressive experience. Employer will accept pre- or post-Master’s degree experience. All experience must be post-Bachelor’s.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have demonstrated experience with the following:

• using multiple data sources.
• solving business problems with data science, emphasis on business outcomes.
• SQL.
• Python, including developing and maintaining in-house libraries.
• predictive modeling and machine learning techniques (including classification, predictive, and artificial neural networks) and their real-world application.
• applying statistical techniques and concepts (including regression, probability, properties of distributions, and statistical tests) in a business setting.
• training models using deep learning frameworks.
• building production grade APIs using established CI/CD pipelines.
• developing and deploying microservice architecture and integrating solutions into broad cross-functional software systems.
• testing frameworks for productionalizing software, including unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and load testing.
• analyzing business problems and presenting key findings to senior leaders and collaborators.
