We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a heart for Christian ministry who would enjoy the challenge of managing a crew of volunteers in our store in Peoria Heights. The Resale Shoppe Assistant Manager responds to the Manager & oversees the general operations of daily activities of the thrift store. This includes processing donations, sorting, pricing, tagging, selecting and shelving, operating the cash register, praying with people, keeping the thrift store organized and clean at all times. This requires teamwork and an ability to work with a wide variety of people with varying skills & abilities.
Duties:
Keeping volunteers on task on appropriate tasks throughout the day. Pricing and tagging items and
clothes. Create an attractive shopping environment including neatly stacking, shelving, and hanging
clothing garments and other donated goods. Enforce recommended strategies for sales promotions to
maximize sales. Following a system for purging items from the store to ensure a constant flow of new
inventory. Ensure the thrift store is always organized and clean. Assist in the recruitment of volunteers
and handling appropriate paperwork. Assist in the training and development of staff and volunteers.
Utilize the internet and social media to advertise the store and promote the most expensive and highest
demand items. Keep record of daily sales and monthly totals and meet with the Resale Director monthly
to report on these figures.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a Christ follower. HS diploma or GED equivalent. College degree in a related field is a plus. Prior
successful work experience in a retail setting is a plus. Ability to handle a cash register and teach others
how to handle one. Must be self-motivated who can work in a constantly changing environment. Must
have excellent people skills and enjoy building positive relationships with customers, volunteers &
partners in the community.

Helping Hands Resale Shoppes exists to raise money for charities. The community is involved in the ministry of Helping Hands by shopping, donating & volunteering. Each store raises money for 50 local charities each year.
