Speech-Language Pathologist
We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to students with speech and language disorders. Collaboration with parents, school support staff, and participation in multidisciplinary teams are key aspects of this position. This position would serve students in the K-8 environment and may include, as needed, grades 9-12.
Key Responsibilities:
● Conduct diagnostic assessments for initial evaluations, re-evaluations, and special evaluations.
● Collaborate in meetings to determine eligibility for services and adequacy of support.
● Support students with speech-language-related challenges to meet academic standards.
● Design and implement interventions aligned with school curriculum and educational goals.
● Provide speech language therapeutic services in accordance to IEPs
● Maintain accurate records and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
Specialty Functions:
● Hold a valid license as a Speech Pathologist from the Illinois State Board of Education and Illinois Department of Professional Regulations.
Essential Functions:
● Provide therapeutic services using various service delivery models.
● Conduct diagnostic assessments based on established criteria.
● Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with educational standards.
● Attend required meetings such as Domain, Eligibility, and Annual Reviews
● Offer consultation and training to teachers, parents, and staff.
● Program and utilize augmentative/alternative communication systems.
● Maintain compliance with documentation and reporting requirements.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
● Graduate degree in communication disorders or speech pathology from an accredited university or college program.
● Hold a valid license as a Speech Pathologist from the Illinois State Board of Education and Illinois Department of Professional Regulations.
● Ability to travel to multiple school locations as needed.
Physical Requirements:
● Light Work: Ability to exert up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally, ten (10) pounds frequently, or negligible force constantly to move objects.
