Precision Machining Production Supervisor

Your day starts on the production floor of our fully automated, vertically integrated facility in Lake Zurich, Illinois. Parts are moving, equipment is humming, and your team is looking to you for guidance. You set the tone for safety, quality, and pace—then roll up your sleeves to jump in where needed, whether that’s supporting fabrication, pitching in on assembly, or helping with finishing to keep product flowing.

The role at a glance
We’re hiring a hands-on Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a production team while actively participating in daily operations. You’ll translate plans into action on the floor, ensuring output, safety, and quality targets are met in alignment with company standards.
What you’ll own
- Direct, coach, and support production employees during assigned shifts to meet safety, quality, and throughput objectives.
- Train teammates on machinery, standard work, and safe operating practices; mentor for skills growth.
- Coordinate labor plan, schedule assignments, balance workloads, and track attendance.
- Be the communication bridge between management and the front line; ensure expectations and feedback flow both ways.
- Champion continuous improvement and structured problem solving to eliminate waste and defects.
- Jump in on fabrication, assembly, and/or finishing as needed to maintain takt and support flow.
- Interpret drawings, work orders, and documented processes to guide execution.
- Observe equipment health, perform basic troubleshooting, and arrange maintenance support.
- Record production data accurately and use ERP/shop-floor tools to track progress and status.
- Verify product quality against specifications; identify and contain nonconformances.
- Enforce PPE and safety procedures; conduct audits and correct hazards immediately.
- Keep the area compliant, orderly, and audit-ready at all times.
What you bring
- Proven background in manufacturing; aluminum fabrication or finishing experience preferred.
- Prior leadership as a supervisor or team lead.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to work alongside your team on the floor.
- Ability to read/interpret blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Clear communicator with the interpersonal skills to motivate and develop others.
- Basic computer proficiency; ERP or production tracking system familiarity is a plus.
- Dedication to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Comfort with physical work: standing, lifting, and other shop-floor tasks throughout the shift.
- Flexibility to adjust hours based on production demand.

Compensation
A reasonable estimate of the hourly pay range for this role is $60,000 - $75,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.
