General Accountant for Veterinary Practice Group – Come join our pack!

We are looking for a General Accountant to take ownership of a variety of financial accounting and reporting responsibilities. Reporting to our Financial Controller, this position is based in our Oak Brook, IL office.

Primary responsibilities:

• Ownership of many of our financial closing tasks including:
• Record and reconcile revenue
• Record bank transactions and reconcile bank accounts
• Record credit card transactions
• Record payroll and related tax entries
• Analyze and reconcile Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts
• Produce Elements of the Financial Reporting Package for the Group and the Clinics
• Prepare and file Sales Tax Returns
• Assist in identifying and executing process improvements to further strengthen the administrative foundation for growth
• Manage and Process Payroll for our Emergency Group
• Ability to serve as a backup for other team members as needed

Position Requirements:

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional committed to delivering value
• Strong communication skills – oral and written, in person and virtual
• Ability to solve problems with a proactive approach
• Proficiency with Excel (Data Cleanup and Validation, Sorting, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
• Bachelor's degree and solid knowledge of accounting
• 2+ years of accounting experience
