DescriptionAdjuncts are hired on a course basis each term.Salary Range for Adjuncts teaching in this academic area is $500.00 - $3,750.00 per course.Governors State University's [College of Arts and Sciences]( seeks to create an available pool of local (Chicagoland area) Adjunct Faculty candidates to teach undergraduate courses in [Interdisciplinary Studies (IDSS)]( This teaching opportunity is for the Division of Arts & Letters and housed through our [University Center of Lake County]( location.
Essential ResponsibilitiesWe are particularly interested in adjunct faculty to teach IDSS courses in the following areas: Academic Writing; Career Planning; Interdisciplinary Theories.

At Governors State University, adjunct faculty are hired as temporary faculty with teaching responsibilities for a specific course in a semester or summer session. Adjuncts are not a part of the faculty bargaining unit and are not included in membership of the Faculty Senate.Required and Preferred QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:* A Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies or a related discipline. * Experience teaching undergraduate classes at an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications:* A doctoral degree in interdisciplinary studies, education, the humanities, social sciences, or a multi-disciplinary field such as Black & Africana Studies or Gender & Sexuality Studies.
