Job Summary:

This position is a highly motivated, results-driven seller responsible for driving revenue, delivering an exceptional customer experience, and supporting the fast-paced operational needs of an Outlet environment. This role blends strong selling behaviors with hands-on support of merchandise flow, customer pickups, and showroom readiness. Successful candidates thrive in a high-energy setting, are comfortable with physical activity, and are passionate about helping customers find immediate solutions for their homes.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

Drive Sales & Deliver Results

  • Contribute to store sales goals by selling furniture, accessories, and services.
  • Consistently execute the company selling process to deliver a positive and efficient customer experience.
  • Utilize strong selling skills including:
    • Customer approach and rapport building
    • Needs discovery and solution selling
    • Overcoming objections and closing the sale
    • Follow-up and after-sale service
    • Maximize store promotions, special events, and marketing initiatives.
    • Maintain strong product knowledge including features, benefits, pricing, and availability.
    • Maintain ongoing communication with previous and prospective customers to drive repeat business.

Customer Experience

  • Provide a high level of customer service to all customers in a fast-paced outlet environment.
  • Ensure each customer has an informative, efficient, and positive shopping experience.
  • Respond promptly to incoming calls, emails, and customer inquiries.
  • Assist in resolving customer concerns and delivering solutions that create satisfaction.
  • Support customer pickups and ensure a smooth handoff of purchased merchandise.

Operational Excellence & Outlet Support

  • Assist with showroom readiness including:
    • Maintaining displays, tagging, signage, and general cleanliness
    • Supporting floor moves and merchandise placement
  • Support truck days and merchandise flow by:
    • Assisting with unloading and moving furniture and accessories
    • Helping place merchandise on the showroom floor
    • Moving furniture to the backroom for customer pickup
    • Assist customers with loading purchased merchandise when needed.
    • Wrap and prepare furniture for customer take-with purchases.
  • Accurately complete order information, collect deposits, and maintain customer records.
  • Maintain knowledge of company processes, systems, and standards.
  • Support opening and closing procedures as assigned.
  • Demonstrate urgency, enthusiasm, and teamwork in daily store operations.

Team & Culture

  • Maintain positive working relationships with all team members.
  • Support new team members in learning product knowledge and selling behaviors.
  • Contribute to a culture focused on sales, teamwork, and customer service.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities.

Technology & Systems

  • Utilize company technology and iPad tools with every customer interaction to support the selling process.
  • Capture and maintain accurate customer information, including digital comfort guides and follow-up details.
  • Complete transactions, order entry, and customer records using company systems.
  • Use digital communication tools to support customer follow-up and ongoing relationship building.
  • Demonstrate comfort learning and using new technology in a fast-paced retail environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous selling experience and ability to close a sale strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication, customer service skills, and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate, build rapport, and positively influence
  • Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and conflicting priorities
  • Ability to effectively and productively with others as a team
  • Ability to work the schedule and hours dictated by business needs
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
  • Initiative to meet assigned goals, missions and objectives and motivated to achieve more
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiar with MS Office Suite

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Ability to assist in moving furniture and merchandise using proper equipment. Ability to occasionally move or assist in moving furniture up to 350 lbs. with team support and equipment. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.

What You Can Expect:

  • Training Pay: $15 - $20 per hour for 2-6 weeks (no commission)
  • Average Annual Earning Potential After Training: $40,000 - $70,000 (inclusive of base and commission)
  • Total Compensation Range: $22,880 - $80,000+ (will not pay less than state/local minimum wage requirements)

Post-Training Pay:

  • Base Pay : $11 – 15 / hour (varies by store location)
  • Commission: UNCAPPED commissions on written sales
    • 1 - 5% in commissions on monthly sales based on sales achievement vs goal – commission % increases as performance to goal increases.

Individual pay is based on various factors, including geographic location, personal performance and relevant qualifications, experience, and skills. By providing our salary ranges and total compensation range details, we aim to foster understanding and confidence in our pay practices. Should the base rate plus the commissions earned during a performance period not be at or greater than location minimum wage requirements for the period, the company will make a minimum wage adjustment for the employee to be compliant with minimum wage for the location.

Paid time off includes: 9-11 paid holidays each year, two weeks’ prorated vacation as a new hire and either personal time (non-exempt only) or state mandated sick time.
