We’re looking for a Principal Industrial Maintenance Technologist to champion equipment reliability through expert troubleshooting, predictive diagnostics, and a relentless continuous improvement mindset. You’ll combine deep controls expertise with hands-on mechanical skill to keep production moving safely and efficiently—while mentoring others to raise the bar.

Core challenges you’ll tackle

  • Deploy predictive maintenance tools—infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing, power quality analysis, laser interferometry, ball bar, vibration analysis—and translate findings into proactive work plans.
  • Lead CI initiatives, applying structured methodologies to deliver process improvements, quantifiable results, and meaningful cost savings.
  • Source parts and materials; recommend alternates and engineered solutions to enhance reliability and maintainability.
  • Operate machining equipment (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools) to make/repair parts; perform welding when required.
  • Investigate new maintenance methods, tools, and system innovations for adoption across our facilities; update documentation and standards.
  • Develop inputs for cost analyses on new equipment, rebuild proposals, savings, and innovation opportunities.
  • Keep meticulous CMMS records; review history and analyze data to drive action.
  • Provide technical content for sales quotations and handle T&M responsibilities as needed.
  • Train and coach technicians; step into project management roles when assigned.
  • Model safety-first behaviors—follow all policies and technical instructions, practice strong situational awareness, and proactively identify unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain rigorous 5S and housekeeping practices.

How you’ll grow

  • Advance your expertise through on-the-job training and self-directed technical study programs designed for career development.
  • Broaden your impact by leading cross-functional improvements that link data, reliability engineering, and operations.

Required background

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree with a technical focus and 7 years of related industry experience; or 10 years of related industry experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with predictive technologies (vibration analysis or laser interferometer operations), precision alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems; capable of analyzing problems, developing alternatives, and executing repairs.
  • Proficient with hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Six Sigma experience desired.
