About The Team The Thought Leadership team at Workday is a forward-thinking group dedicated to establishing the company as a leading voice in the future of work and AI. We strive to achieve this by creating impactful content that analyzes emerging trends, influences industry perspectives, and positions Workday executives as trusted thought leaders. Our work directly impacts brand awareness and demand generation efforts across key markets. About The Role We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Editorial Manager to join our growing Thought Leadership team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and executing our content strategy, ensuring we deliver high-quality, insightful thought leadership that resonates with our target audience. In addition, you will manage content for the Workday Blog, a primary owned channel for news and information about Workday. You will act as a strong cross-functional partner, a systems thinker, and a thoughtful editor with a critical eye for clear, jargon-free storytelling that supports Workday’s reputation and values. About You- Responsibilities:
- Topic Development: Generate innovative and engaging topic ideas aligned with our thought leadership themes, research, and campaigns.
- Content Strategy: Strategically contribute to the overall content strategy, ensuring alignment with broader marketing and communications goals. Oversee the end-to-end content creation process, from ideation and outlining to writing, editing, and production. This includes managing relationships with external agencies and freelancers.
- Author Management: Identify, recruit, and manage internal and external authors (including Workday executives and industry experts) for various content formats (e.g., articles, reports, blog posts, videos).
- Production: Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of content across various channels (e.g., website, social media, email).
- Editing: Intake drafts and proposals about company announcements and positions; manage cadence, editing, and publication.
- Performance Analysis: Track and analyze content performance to identify trends, measure impact, and inform future content strategy.
- Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in editorial management, content marketing, journalism, or a related field.
- Other Qualifications:
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful thought leadership content strategies.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with senior executives, cross-functional peers and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
