Senior Acccountant
Overview:
Our client, a leading food manufacturing company known for its innovation and growth, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a manufacturing accounting professional to step into a key role supporting financial reporting, cost analysis, and month-end close within a fast-paced production environment.
As a trusted staffing partner, we are working directly with senior leadership to identify a strong candidate who can add value from day one and help drive financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
Analyze production costs, variances, and inventory valuations to support plant operations.
Partner with operations and supply chain teams to support forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis.
Assist with standard costing updates and bill of materials (BOM) reviews.
Support external audit preparation and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Provide mentorship to junior accounting staff and participate in cross-functional projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA preferred.
4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a manufacturing or food production environment.
Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
