Daycare Food Handler/Floater

As a Food Handler/Floater at Children's Land, you will play a critical role in the developmental growth of children. This position requires a blend of creativity, patience, and a deep understanding of early childhood development.

REQUIREMENTS:

● Certified Safe Food Handler certificate preferred or within 3 months of hire

● High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred

● Experience with early childhood children

● Experience in the food industry preferred

● Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills

● CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hiring

● Ability to adhere to tight schedules and set priorities

● Ability to lift heavy objects

● Ability to stand for long periods of time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Distribute all food served in the program, specifically breakfast, lunch and snacks

● Responsible for keeping kitchen, kitchen equipment and food storage areas clean and in

good working order within DCFS licensing standards

● Check children’s special dietary needs as allergies to ensure proper food has been delivered

● Set up trays and any serving utensils and distribute food to classrooms

● Keep refrigerator, freezer, and kitchen pristine clean

● Clean other areas of the daycare

● Bag and remove garbage daily

● Receive food and other supplies and store in appropriate storage areas

● Duties assigned by director as teacher breaks

Job Type: Full-time Monday through Friday

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
