Role Purpose
To support the practice by greeting patients upon arrival, checking them in for their appointments and checking them out after being seen.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Checks patients in and out accurately.
- Obtains complete and accurate demographic and financial information during the check in process.
- Answers incoming phone calls
- Assists patients with registration as needed
- Answers patient questions about general practice, appointments, etc.
- Collects patient payments including copays, balances and deductibles
- Schedules patient's follow up visits
- Reconciles cash drawer at end of shift
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate
- Attention to detail
- Polished communication skills
- Strong computer knowledge
- Friendly, Polite, and Professional
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting) 85% of the time
- Performs well under pressure
- Cash handling skills specifically ability to make change and balance drawer
