Spring And Wire Coiling Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled Spring and Wire Coiling Machine Operator to set up and operate one or more ring coiling machines. You will be responsible for coiling rings from round, shaped, or flat wire according to blueprints and setup charts, ensuring maximum throughput and optimum product quality.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate spring coiling/wire coiling machines.
• Perform necessary machine adjustments and part checks to ensure product quality.
• Conduct wire forming, wire filling, and wire processing for wire channel flux used in brazing.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges for basic measurements to monitor quality.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver quality rings to customers on time.
• Review setup cards to determine setup procedures, machine attachments, and material specifications.
• Adjust machines to produce rings conforming to specifications.
• Control specified dimensions of parts and adjust machines for minor deviations.
• Maintain production speeds.
• Select, install, and adjust machine attachments and tooling.
• Verify material specifications and mount materials on the machine.
• Conduct trial runs and measure samples for conformance to specifications.
• Complete production and quality records.
• Recommend specification changes to resolve production problems.
• Notify maintenance team of machine breakdowns.
• Measure rings for specification conformance during part checks.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Machine operation and setup expertise.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with coil winding and blueprint interpretation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with measuring tools and inspections.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tinley Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
