Volt is immediately hiring for MACHINE OPERATOR in GLENDALE HEIGHTS, IL.

As a Machine Operator you will:

· Move loose or bundled pipe within the shop and yard.

· Assemble pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and maintain organized work supplies.

· Follow safety precautions for fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe.

· Operate powered industrial equipment per OSHA guidelines.

· Ability to sort/shift pipe ranging from ½” to 10”.

· Set up and maintain machines for pipe fabrication.

· Measure, record, and add random pipe lengths accurately.

· Measure and cut pipe using band saws or torches.

· Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines.

· Inspect and maintain forklift equipment.

This is a Full time Contract opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

· 6-8 months recent machinery, band saws, automatic welding machines.

· Ability to use and understand tape measures and use of Gauges for quality checks

· 6-8 months experience in mechanical background

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

· Good computer skills for automated machinery.

· 6-8 months recent experience with machinery such as pipe threaders, band saws, roll groove machines, plasma cutting, automatic welding machines, and pneumatic banders.

· Experience in fire sprinkler pipe fabrication (6-8 months).

Pay Rate: <$19.00 - $21.51 per hour>
