Pressbox is hiring Front of House team members for our high-energy sports bar and restaurant located in Chicago’s South Loop / Printers Row neighborhood.

We are looking for friendly, dependable, energetic team members who enjoy hospitality, teamwork, and working in a fast-paced environment. Pressbox is built around sports, great food, cocktails, brunch, late-night service, group reservations, and game-day energy, so we are looking for people who can bring both professionalism and personality to the guest experience.

About the Role

Front of House team members are responsible for creating a welcoming, fun, and organized experience for guests from the moment they arrive until they leave. Ideal candidates should be comfortable in a busy restaurant and bar setting, able to multitask, and willing to support the team wherever needed.

Hourly FOH candidates should have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a guest-first mindset. Previous restaurant, bar, or hospitality experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidates.

For Floor Manager and Assistant Manager roles, candidates should have prior leadership experience in a restaurant, bar, lounge, or hospitality setting. Managers will help lead service, support staff, handle guest concerns, maintain service standards, and help ensure smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities May Include:

• Providing friendly, attentive, and professional guest service
• Greeting guests and creating a positive first impression
• Taking orders and maintaining knowledge of food, drinks, specials, and service standards
• Supporting lunch, dinner, brunch, late-night, game-day, and private event service
• Working closely with the kitchen, bar, and management team
• Maintaining clean, organized, and properly stocked service areas
• Handling high-volume shifts with urgency and professionalism
• Supporting opening, closing, and side work responsibilities
• Communicating clearly with guests, team members, and managers
• Contributing to a team-first, hospitality-focused work environment

For Floor Manager and Assistant Manager candidates, responsibilities may also include:

• Leading shifts and supporting daily FOH operations
• Supervising servers, bartenders, hosts, runners, barbacks, and support staff
• Assisting with training, coaching, and maintaining service standards
• Managing guest concerns and supporting hospitality recovery when needed
• Helping with scheduling, shift planning, and team communication
• Maintaining consistency, accountability, and a positive service culture

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of restaurant, bar, or hospitality experience preferred
• Strong communication and guest service skills
• Positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Reliable, punctual, and organized
• Ability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, brunch shifts, and game days as needed
• Comfortable working in an energetic sports bar and restaurant environment
• Basset and Food Handler certifications preferred or required depending on role
• Management candidates should have previous supervisory or leadership experience

Compensation:

Compensation varies by role and experience. Tipped positions are eligible for tips. Floor Manager and Assistant Manager compensation will be discussed based on experience and position level.
