About the Role
We’re working with a well-established, progressive veterinary hospital in Lockport, IL that is seeking a Medical Director to lead clinical operations while providing high-quality care for dogs and cats. This leadership role combines clinical oversight, mentorship, and practice management with hands-on veterinary work.
The Medical Director will guide the team of veterinarians and support staff, ensure consistent standards of care, and help foster professional development for all associates. This position is ideal for veterinarians who are passionate about both excellent patient care and veterinary leadership .

Responsibilities
- Lead clinical team and maintain high standards of patient care
- Mentor and develop associate veterinarians and support staff
- Oversee daily operations of the hospital, including scheduling and workflow

- Collaborate with hospital leadership to promote growth and patient care initiatives
Schedule
- Full-time, hospital open six days per week
- Set schedule with no on-call responsibilities
- Dedicated surgery day with 30-minute appointments for predictable workflow and work-life balance
Candidate Profile
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited university
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Illinois
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
- Passionate about delivering high-quality care to pets and building client trust
- Collaborative and committed to a team-oriented, positive workplace culture
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $115,000 – $130,000 annually, negotiable based on experience and credentials
