About the Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro Unit is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to neurological patients in an inpatient setting. This role involves managing complex patient conditions, utilizing the nursing process, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

• Provide comprehensive nursing care using assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments
• Develop and update individualized plans of care based on patient needs
• Deliver care to patients with neurological conditions

Clinical Duties

• Implement nursing interventions and patient care procedures
• Monitor patient progress and modify care plans accordingly
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Ensure integration of patient information across the care team

Safety & Compliance

• Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and reporting hazards
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
• Participate in safety initiatives and incident reporting

Collaboration & Professional Growth

• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Provide constructive feedback and support peer development
• Identify learning needs and participate in ongoing education
• Maintain competency in nursing practices and technologies

Additional Details

• Shift: Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Schedule: 3 shifts/week (36 hours)
• Language: English (Read, Write, Speak)
• Position Reason: Backfill

Requirements

Education

• ASN (required)
• BSN (preferred)

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience
• Experience in neuro or acute care settings preferred

Licensure & Certifications

• Active Illinois RN License (in good standing)
• BLS (AHA) certification (required)
