Warehouse Operator - Shipping (Arlington Heights)
Primary Responsibilities:
Receiving and Shipping Operations:
o Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments efficiently and accurately.
o Verify shipment contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
o Label, barcode, and document materials for tracking in warehouse management systems.
o Pack, seal, and prepare shipments for transportation per standard work instructions.
o Ensure shipment accuracy, traceability, and timely communication with logistics partners.
Inventory and Material Handling:
o Perform inventory transactions in ERP or WMS systems accurately.
o Conduct routine cycle counts and help resolve inventory discrepancies.
o Organize warehouse storage locations for optimized space utilization and flow.
o Move, stack, and stage materials safely using powered industrial equipment (e.g., forklift, reach truck).
o Identify and correct stock issues or misplacements.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
o Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
o Perform pre-use inspections on equipment and report any maintenance needs.
o Ensure materials and tools are handled, stored, and maintained properly.
o Support preventive maintenance activities within assigned work areas.
Quality and Accuracy:
o Verify inbound and outbound shipments for completeness and quality.
o Ensure materials meet handling and packaging requirements.
o Assist in root-cause investigations for shipping or inventory discrepancies.
o Maintain accurate documentation of shipments and transactions.
Safety and Compliance:
o Follow all company safety, PPE, and material handling policies.
o Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization consistent with 5S standards.
o Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions or near misses immediately.
o Promote safe equipment operation and model compliance for Level 1 employees.
Communication and Teamwork:
o Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, logistics partners, and other departments.
o Provide informal coaching and guidance to Level 1 operators as needed.
o Participate in daily shift huddles and contribute ideas for workflow improvement.
o Work cross-functionally with Operations, Purchasing, and Quality to resolve issues.
•Perform other related duties as assigned Job Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years of warehouse or logistics experience with increasing responsibility.
• Forklift certification and proficiency with material handling equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy.
• Basic computer literacy, including ERP or warehouse management systems.
• Ability to safely use and lift equipment weighing up to 35 pounds
• Regular and prompt attendance required. Benefits
