The in-office days are subject to business needs. Candidates must be able to commute to the office as required.? Position Overview The Director of Accounting provides leadership and oversight for high-volume, high-impact, and high-visibility accounting functions including customer billing, sales commissions, accounts payable, payroll, and expense reimbursement. The leader drives a focus on scaling our accounting processes for continued growth, maintaining effective internal controls, and driving a high customer service mindset across a large team. This role will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer. Primary Responsibilities The below represents the primary duties of the position, others may be assigned as needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.- Lead the Accounting group responsible for several high-volume, high-impact, and high-visibility support functions including customer billing, sales commissions, accounts payable, payroll, and expense reimbursement.
- Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of 30+ individuals across four teams. Develop and implement best practices, key performance indicators and SLA metrics for the team.
- Leads a functional area or multiple departments through lower management, driving new methods and solving complex issues. Accountable for impacts on department budgets.
- Drive a continuous improvement mindset through identifying automation opportunities, process improvements or improved reporting capabilities to support improved decision making across the organization.
- Ability to lead or drive major cross-functional system initiatives to continue to scale our operations for growth while also maintaining a strong internal control environment.
- Ability to drive strong relationships with key business partners at the Director/VP+ level, including sales, operations, procurement, HR, and FP&A, to ensure seamless service delivery and deep understanding of all touch points.
- Responsible for overseeing the sales compensation process including commission payments, administration of commission plans, communications with sales partners and oversight of the commission system.
- Partner with sales finance and sales leadership team around various sales projects including territory management, quota setting, and other strategic ad-hoc requests.
- Oversee the payroll function for 5,000+ EEs, including driving and supporting company-wide initiatives to drive improvements in current and future product offerings
- Lead the company-wide expense reimbursement process, including overseeing the policy compliance, addressing field communications around expense management, and providing data analytics and reporting cadence with business partners to drive positive outcomes.
- Drive post-acquisition integration activities for related processes of acquired businesses.
- Develops process and design to build metrics, KPIs and scorecards that lend insight into the business.
- Oversight of all key SOX internal controls and compliance with company policies.
- Assistance with providing 10Q and 10K/SEC required reporting information where appropriate.
- Minimum 10 years of public company experience required at companies with annual revenues of $500 million+ during tenure preferred
- 5+ years leadership experience
- BS in Accounting or Finance with CPA preferred
- Proficiency in MS Excel; knowledge of leading ERPs and other cloud-based financial systems
- Attention to detail and thoroughness
- Process improvement oriented
- Demonstrated good judgment and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated strength in organizing and time management skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams both direct reports and cross-functionally
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
