Description:

Process Engineer (Technical Writer) needs to review and interpret customer data, create clear production work instructions for manufacturing, and maintain several Engineering databases at a precision metal fabrication facility serving the aerospace and defense industries. As a member of the Engineering Team, you will also interact with customers (both internal and external) to ensure all information is obtained to perform job requirements successfully and support any cross-departmental collaborations.

Education:

Associates Degree within an Engineering related field (preferred).

High School Diploma (minimum)

English (Required)

Bilingual – Spanish (preferred)

Key Responsibilities:

· Review and interpret customer data (manufacturing prints, process specifications, technical data sheets).

· Create work instructions for manufacturing within ERP system – Made 2 Manage (Standard Routers & Bill of Materials).

· Create work instruction for manufacturing using MS Products – Excel, Word, PowerPoint (Shop Aids, Manufacturing Instructions, SOPs).

· Generate and release job orders in ERP system – Made 2 Manage (as needed).

· Process router/layout change requests.

· Create and process engineering change notices for revision changes.

· Create or participate in designing process fixtures as needed (checking fixtures, weld fixtures, etc.)

· Contract review of customer purchase orders.

· Maintain engineering digital files and/or hardcopies.

· Access customer portals to retrieve documentation and/or verify technical information.

· Work with production teams to ensure manufacturability of product.

Qualifications:

· Associates degree in Engineering related field (preferred) or a combination of High School Diploma with related industry experience.

· 3+ years of experience within the fabrication/manufacturing industry as a technical writer or related role.

· 3+ years of data entry experience in ERP systems. Preferably Made2Manage.

· Ability to read, write, and speak in the English language fluently.

· Ability to read and understand manufacturing design prints (print symbols, notes, dimensions & tolerances, GD&T).

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

· Ability to type efficiently using Home Row method.

· Strong organization and troubleshooting abilities.

· Familiarity within the ISO9001 and AS9100 Quality environment.

· Familiarity with special processes such as metal finishing, welding, primer & paint, dip brazing (NADCAP).

· CAD skills but not required (AutoCAD, Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor).

· Ability to adhere to company policies and quality management system procedures.
