Special Education Teacher | $50/hr | Full-Time | Chicago, IL | Middle School | Inclusion Classroom | 2025-2026 School Year

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher with an LBS1 endorsement to support middle school students in an inclusive classroom setting in Chicago, Illinois. This in-person position begins October 14, 2025, and runs through the end of the 2025-2026 school year.

Position Overview:

• Location: Chicago, IL

• Start Date: October 14, 2025

• End Date: End of school year (June 2026)

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM

• Work Hours: 32 hours/week

• Pay Rate: $50/hr

• Modality: In-person

• Grade Levels: 6th-8th (Middle School)

• Caseload: 10 students

• Classroom Type: Inclusion with shared paraprofessional support

• Interview Format: Virtual

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and small-group instruction to students with special needs

• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement IEPs

• Participate in team planning and student program development

• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines

• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (preferred)

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement

• State certification in elementary, secondary, or special education (preferred)

• Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred)

• CPR certification, TB clearance, and health certificate as applicable

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
