About the Role
Join Radius Lights as the Visual Merchandising Specialist for Visual Comfort & Co, a world-renowned decorative lighting manufacturer. This is primarily a visual merchandising and gallery management position with sales support responsibilities across our B2B network of lighting showrooms, furniture stores, and specialty retailers in Illinois and Wisconsin.

Primary Responsibilities
Visual Merchandising & Gallery Management:
- Manage ongoing merchandising schedule for 30+ galleries with regular small refreshes
- Plan and execute full gallery refreshes on a 2-3 year rotating schedule
- Design and build compelling displays that showcase Visual Comfort & Co products
- Ensure brand compliance: proper lighting, current catalogs, finish samples, and fixture functionality
- Build, repair, and maintain display fixtures; perform or coordinate electrical installations
- Make data-driven decisions on product rotation using sales Door Reports & eCat
- Create focal points and visual hierarchies that guide customer attention
- Style vignettes that inspire customers and tell a compelling story
Account Support & Relationship Management:
- Conduct regular showroom visits to build relationships and provide merchandising support
- Train showroom staff on Visual Comfort products and display best practices
- Identify opportunities to improve gallery performance
- Collaborate with sales team, ownership, and showroom management
Operations & Administration:
- Manage RGA processes and PSRs for each account
- Inspect fixtures, document condition issues with photos
- Maintain records of gallery inventories and refresh schedules
- Represent Visual Comfort & Co at 4 annual trade shows (January, April, June, October)
Must-Have Qualifications
Visual Merchandising Experience:
- 5+ years in visual merchandising, display design, or retail presentation
- Proven ability to create engaging displays that drive sales
- Creative eye for design with understanding of spatial planning
- Portfolio or examples of merchandising work (helpful but not required)
Hands-On Skills:
- Carpentry, painting, and fixture repair experience
- Comfortable using tools, climbing ladders, and physical work
- Ability to install, repair, and maintain lighting displays
- Problem-solving skills for on-site challenges
Project Management:
- Self-motivated and highly organized
- Ability to manage schedules across 30+ locations
- Strong follow-through and attention to detail
Basic Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly throughout IL/WI
- Physical ability to lift 30+ lbs. and work on displays
- Proficiency in basic computer skills (email, photos, documentation)
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Sales experience or comfort with client-facing interactions
- Knowledge of lighting design principles (layering, color temperature, ambiance)
- Understanding of current interior design trends
- Electrical certification or lighting installation experience
- Experience with luxury home furnishings or design industry
- Familiarity with Visual Comfort & Co products
- CRM experience (ACT, Salesforce, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in design, merchandising, or related field

Work Environment & Compensation
Location: Home office based with extensive field travel throughout Illinois and Wisconsin
Compensation: Commission-based, 1099 independent contractor position with performance bonus opportunities. Earning potential varies based on performance and territory development.
