Barista

Working alongside a high profile and prestigious team, The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a Barista who is highly organized to work with our Pirrot Gourmet restaurant and create a memorable guest experience.

Key Accountabilities:

• Responsible for espresso and coffee drinks, as well as the take out orders of Pierrot Gourmet.
• Perform a friendly, yet discreet and unobtrusive service in greeting and serving all guests.
• Perform pre-service and after-service procedures as per standards.
• Understand and accurately follow the standards and sequences of service.
• Have complete understanding of all food and beverage items ordered, including ingredients, methods of preparation and proper service.

General Requirements:

• Basic restaurant operations knowledge
• Minimum of 2-year experience in a hospitality service field.
• Must have excellent organizational and communication skills
• Knowledge of food and the preparation of hot and cold beverages.
• Good physical strength and stamina - ability to carry trays of food and stand on feet for long periods of time.
