Automotive Service Manager

Many of our employees have been with our company for 20+ years - join us to find out why! We are looking for a Service Manager for our Ford franchise on the North Shore in Glenview on Waukegan Road. This position is open due to an upcoming retirement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage our (air-conditioned) service department processes and personnel
• Utilize and update Reynolds and Reynolds on a daily basis to manage and monitor shop scheduling, workflow and productivity.
• Manage productivity of technicians to ensure billable hours and workflow are appropriate
• Manage TSD Loaner Software on a daily basis to manage our fleet of service loaners.
• Manage internal repair orders to turn used vehicles and retired loaners over to showroom quickly
• Work with Service BDC and Marketing Team to maximize service sales opportunities, retention and attract new customers
• Manage processing of warranty repair orders and claims
• Manage lot attendants
• Contact customers directly if a complaint is made in attempt to resolve
• Interact with external vendors (ie Hunter, etc)

REQUIREMENTS:

• MUST have strong computer skills. Must be able to use several software programs to manage the shop on a daily basis.
• Previous experience as a Service Manager at a dealership
• Ford experience strongly with preferred
• Experience managing a union shop is preferred
• Previous experience as a technician is a plus
• Experience with warranty is preferred
• Experience with Reynolds is preferred
• Enthusiastic with high energy throughout the workday
• Outgoing with a friendly personality
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to deal with customers, employees and vendors
• Experience implementing structured business processes
• Strong track record of top CSI and online reputation ratings
• Must be willing to submit to a background check
• MUST have valid drivers license and clean driving record
