Radiation Therapist Job Details

• Position: Locum Tenens Radiation Therapist
• Employment Type: Travel Contract
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – Radiation Oncology
• Location: O'Fallon, Illinois 62269 (Greater St. Louis area)
• Contract Duration: 6 weeks (10/6/2025 – 11/17/2025)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
• Shift: Day shift, Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm (8-hour shifts)
• Patient Caseload: 45+ external beam/CT patients daily
• Float Requirement: May float between Memorial East and Memorial Belleville hospitals
• Weekend/On-Call: No weekends, no on-call required
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2420–$2480

Radiation Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Radiation Therapist in a hospital or clinical setting
• Prior travel healthcare job experience required
• Current Illinois State License for Radiation Therapy (required at submission)
• ARRT (T) certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
• Proficiency with Varian TrueBeam and ARIA systems
• Experience with CBCT/kV/mV imaging techniques
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Experience providing care to adult and geriatric patients (outpatient/inpatient)
• Commitment to high patient safety standards
• No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius of O'Fallon, IL

Key Responsibilities

• Administer radiation therapy treatments to adult and geriatric patients using 2D, 3D, IMRT, SBRT, and SRS techniques
• Operate Varian linear accelerators and CT simulators in a hospital environment
• Perform daily chart checks and maintain accurate patient records using Epic and ARIA
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float between affiliated hospital sites (Memorial East and Memorial Belleville) as needed
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and infection control standards
• Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
