Key Job Details – ICU RN Travel Nursing

• Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Locum Tenens)
• Location: Jacksonville, Illinois 62650
• Healthcare Setting: Critical Access Hospital, 4-bed ICU
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/15/2025, End: 12/15/2025)
• Nursing Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2000-$2050
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Charting System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Any solid color
• Parking: Free with permit

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• Active Illinois RN license (required at submission)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (AHA or Red Cross only)
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and ventilator management
• IV therapy skills: arterial line management, blood product administration, central/PICC line care, starting IVs
• Medication management: titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation/paralytics, emergency medications
• Respiratory/Thoracic care: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube insertion/removal, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, suctioning, ventilator management
• Professional skills: infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, wound care with drains/wound vac
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
• Cerner charting experience preferred

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 4-bed ICU
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, and acute/chronic renal failure
• Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs
• Administer and titrate IV medications and drips according to protocols
• Assist with respiratory management, including ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and chest tubes
• Implement infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Float to other hospital units as needed to support healthcare operations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including rapid response
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR
