Accounts Payable Analyst
What You'll Do
- Process the full-cycle accounts payable function for more than 100 entities, ensuring invoices are accurately entered, coded, approved, and paid on time.
- Receive, track, and maintain vendor invoices while ensuring proper documentation and authorization.
- Prepare invoice and payment journal entries within the accounting system.
- Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Serve as a point of contact for vendor inquiries and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain vendor and entity master files to ensure data accuracy.
- Assist with annual 1099 reporting and related tax documentation.
- Review employee credit card transactions to ensure expenses are properly supported, coded, and recorded.
- Maintain schedules for leases, rent payments, insurance policies, fixed assets, and other recurring obligations.
- Manage incoming physical mail and accounting-related documentation for the Chicago office.
- Support month-end close activities and assist with special projects as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 1–2 years of accounting experience, ideally within a family office, public accounting, financial services, or a similar environment.
- Experience processing vendor invoices, preparing journal entries, and working within the general ledger across multiple entities.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting fundamentals.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and organize financial data.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with a hands-on mentality who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and is willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
