Assistant Kitchen Manager

Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our culinary team. The Assistant Kitchen Manager will support the Executive Chef and oversee the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring quality food production, proper staffing, inventory management, and adherence to food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support kitchen operations: Assist in managing the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, ensuring quality standards are met consistently.
- Team leadership: Help manage and supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to team members to improve efficiency and performance.
- Inventory control: Assist with inventory management, ordering, and maintaining stock levels. Ensure the kitchen has all necessary ingredients and supplies.
- Food safety & sanitation: Monitor food safety procedures, ensure cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Chef, front-of-house staff, and management to ensure the kitchen is aligned with operational goals and that guest experience is exceptional.
- Quality control: Assist in menu development, maintain consistent food quality, and ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to company standards.
- Problem-solving: Address and resolve any kitchen issues, whether related to staffing, food quality, or equipment, in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a kitchen leadership role (Sous Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, or similar position).
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to train and inspire a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Passion for food, brewing, and hospitality.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to control and manage food inventory and food ordering.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a brewery or similar establishment is a plus.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional training.
- Familiarity with POS systems and kitchen management software.
- Knowledge of local food suppliers and vendors.
