Join our dynamic production team where you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by ensuring the smooth operation of milling machines. The position involves working on the production floor with a team of 13 employees per shift, utilizing large kettles and milling machines to mix and disperse paint into drums. You will monitor the machine's panel controls, scrape paint, and handle drums, ensuring efficient and uninterrupted production flow.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor milling machines to ensure smooth production flow.
• Scrape paint from the mill into drums and prepare the next drum during cycles.
• Repack filled containers into smaller sizes as per customer requests.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks such as cleaning and sanitizing during slow periods.
• Use personal protective equipment and follow safety protocols.
• Tend mills safely and efficiently to grind raw materials for high-quality ink manufacturing.
• Process batches at proper mill settings and follow Quality Control instructions.
• Adhere to quality requirements, testing procedures, and packaging standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of the mill, work area, and perform required preventive maintenance.

Essential Skills

• Machine operation and batch mixing experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Attention to detail and strong mathematical skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience in production or machine operation.
• Comfortable with ink smells and working in a hot environment.
• Basic math skills and simple data entry proficiency.
• Previous experience in production and machine operation is a plus.
• Forklift experience and experience working with chemicals are advantageous.

Work Environment

Experience a clean and organized production floor, though the facility is warm due to manufacturing processes. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 2nd shift from 2PM to 10:30PM. Candidates will train on the 1st shift for 90 days. Safety protocols require wearing steel-toed shoes and color-coded vests, with PPE provided. Our facility is equipped with modern locker rooms and break areas to ensure comfort and efficiency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WEST CHICAGO, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.00/hr.
