Position Overview
Join a dynamic team where precision and accountability drive daily impact. In this role, you'll manage fiscal transactions across appropriation allotments, obligations, vouchers, and requisitions, coordinate departmental travel in compliance with state regulations, and support operational cash projects as a trusted backup to the supervisor. You'll also research, document, and process accounts receivable for grant programs, contributing to financial integrity and operational continuity. Essential Functions
- Posts all fiscal transactions to the appropriate accounting system as it pertains to appropriation allotments, obligations, vouchers, and requisitions – daily.
- Utilizes computer program to post/process Federal USDA Adult Day Care Nutrition program.
- Coordinates travel for the Department in accordance with the Travel Control Board regulations.
- Serves as the backup to the supervisor for operational projects on specific cash needs.
- Researches, documents, and process all accounts receivable for grant programs. Submits requests to the Attorney General with appropriate documentation requesting permission to write-off accounts receivable as needed.
- Prepares daily voucher file for submission to the Comptroller.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of two years of college and one year of technical accounting experience or four years of related bookkeeping experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers two years of work experience in an accounting role.
- Prefers two years of experience demonstrating utilization of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Prefers experience working in Excel utilizing common functions and formulas.
- Prefers experience utilizing accounting software.
