Lean Six Sigma Lead, Metals Warehouse Operations

You’ll guide a metals operation that prizes customer service, inventory accuracy, and disciplined execution—while advancing Continuous Improvement with measurable results.

Role Highlights

• Own end-to-end warehouse leadership: safety, housekeeping, 5S, Lean, on-time delivery, productivity, cost control, inventory accuracy, shipping/receiving, team development, and compliance.
• Hire and review performance in partnership with HR; conduct annual reviews; create training and development plans that address performance, behavior, and career growth.
• Set quantitative objectives that align with Operations, UPM and ONI Key Strategic Objectives; coach direct and indirect reports to achieve them.
• Serve as the HS&E champion—ensure OSHA & EPA compliance in daily practice.
• Partner with the CI Manager to embed a Continuous Improvement culture across the warehouse.
• Implement and sustain 5S/Lean to enhance throughput and reduce waste.
• Execute daily production and shipment schedules; actively manage constraints to meet commitments.
• Track KPIs daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually and drive actions to close performance gaps.
• Develop and deliver cost savings/avoidance projects targeting year-over-year reductions.
• Safeguard inventory integrity and accuracy; uphold ISO requirements.
• Model the UPM and ONI Code of Conduct and Ethics policy to shape the work environment.

Credentials

• Associate Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt required (or a defined path to completion).
• Minimum 5 years leading teams.
• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing, distribution, and/or warehouse environments.
