Commercial Construction Superintendent – Lead High-Impact Projects

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead and oversee field operations for complex commercial construction projects. In this critical leadership role, you will manage all on-site activities, coordinate subcontractors and trade partners, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all daily field operations and construction activities for commercial projects
  • Direct and coordinate subcontractors, trade partners, and on-site personnel to maintain productivity and quality
  • Monitor and control project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery
  • Enforce strict safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards on all construction sites
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications
  • Manage MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) coordination and integration
  • Maintain clear communication with project managers, clients, architects, and engineers
  • Resolve on-site issues and conflicts quickly and effectively to keep projects on track
  • Track and document project progress through detailed reporting and documentation
  • Lead project closeout procedures including punch lists, final inspections, and client handover

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent field experience
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience managing commercial construction projects in the field
  • Proven track record supervising commercial construction projects with strong MEP systems knowledge
  • Demonstrated expertise in construction site management, scheduling, and budget control
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with strong team building and personnel management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in construction management software and project scheduling tools
  • In-depth understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
  • Willingness to travel throughout Illinois, Indiana, and surrounding Midwest states as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with healthcare facilities, pharmaceutical construction, higher education, or K-12 educational building projects
  • OSHA 30-Hour certification
  • LEED accreditation or green building experience
  • Experience with design-build or design-assist project delivery methods
