Incobrasa is a soybean processing and biodiesel manufacturing company in Central Illinois with roots in the industry going back over 50 years. With a long company history focused on agriculture, our business efforts expanded from Brazil to the United States in 1982. We process soybeans. Year-round, all day, every day. Our process and systems are cutting edge, consisting of our shipping & receiving facilities, high-volume grain dryer, 8 concrete 190,000 bushel silos and multiple facilities including soybean preparation, oil extraction, refinery, food-grade oil packaging and biodiesel production. We have a long-standing relationship with our suppliers of soybeans. Our soybeans are sourced from a number of local elevators and suppliers in Illinois and surrounding states.

- Animal Feed. Animal feed made from soybeans is the most important protein source used to feed farm animals. As a soybean processor, large quantities of soybean meal and soybean hull pellets are produced as a by-product of oil extraction.
- Vegetable Oil. Incobrasa operates a state-of-the-art packaging and labeling facility that features various production lines of bottled and canned vegetable oil.
- Biodiesel. Incobrasa is a member of the National Biodiesel Board. We are BQ-9000 and RFS certified, with an annual production capacity of 44 million gallons. Biodiesel is a renewable biofuel that is clean-burning and offers a replacement or supplement to regular diesel fuel.
Barge- Pekin, IL
- Incobrasa recently acquired a barge operation in Pekin. Grain barge operation is a vital component of the agricultural supply chain, facilitating the efficient transportation of bulk grain.
Our Grain Elevator. - Goodland, IN
- We receive, store, and transport Soybeans and Corn. Our corn capacity is 1,200,000 bushels, and our soybean capacity is 1,400,000.
About the Role:
The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of our facilities. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems including pumps, boilers, conveyor systems, and other essential machinery. The Maintenance Mechanic will work proactively to identify potential issues and perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. This role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical systems, often in physically demanding environments. Ultimately, the Maintenance Mechanic ensures that all mechanical operations comply with safety standards and contribute to the overall productivity and success of the agricultural or forestry operation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with mechanical systems such as pumps, boilers, and conveyor systems.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and climb ladders.
- Operate a lathe
- Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems and mechanical components.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime as required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical maintenance or related fields.
- Experience in the agriculture, forestry, fishing, or hunting industries.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Previous experience operating manual and/or CNC lathes preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on pumps, boilers, conveyor systems, and other mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Knowledge of machining practices and metalworking processes
- Ability to select and install tooling, inserts, and fixtures
- Experience measuring parts using precision measuring instruments:
- Micrometers
- Calipers
- Dial indicators
- Bore gauges
- Ability to maintain tight tolerances and quality standards
- Understanding of feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters
- Ability to perform machine setups and changeovers
- Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting skills
- Set up and operate lathe equipment to produce parts according to specifications.
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Record measurements and production information.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Diagnose mechanical failures and execute timely repairs to minimize operational disruptions.
- Operate forklifts and climb ladders safely to access equipment and parts in various locations.
- Replace gaskets, seals, and other components to maintain system integrity and prevent leaks.
- Work overtime as needed to address urgent repairs or complete scheduled maintenance during off-hours.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize maintenance tasks and improve system reliability.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to mechanical systems and workplace safety.

The required skills such as working with pumps, boilers, and conveyor systems are essential for daily maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring machinery operates efficiently and safely. Mechanical systems knowledge allows the mechanic to diagnose and resolve complex issues, reducing downtime and improving productivity. Operating forklifts and climbing ladders are necessary for accessing equipment and transporting parts, which supports timely maintenance activities. Understanding three-phase electrical systems complements mechanical expertise, enabling the mechanic to address electrical components within machinery. Preferred skills like technical certifications and experience with CMMS enhance the ability to implement preventative maintenance strategies and maintain detailed records, contributing to long-term operational success.
