Purpose of Role:

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for providing preparing journal entries, financial reports and information by researching and analysing accounts. Additionally, the staff accountant will be responsible for the review of the general ledger data and the preparation of reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare daily and month-end close journal entries.
• Prepare Bank Reconciliations.
• Responsible for the preparation of daily and month-end reconciliations between the general ledger (GL) and source documents and systems.
• Responsible for the timely resolution of any differences identified on daily and month-end reconciliations.
• Responsible for the timely payment of various invoices and related monthly accruals of expenses.
• Chase approvals for outstanding invoices.
• Assist with 1099 reporting.
• Prepare miscellaneous daily reports for management, including ad hoc reporting and data analysis.
• Prepare audit work papers and explain reconciliation with auditors.
• Review existing departmental policies and procedures, and institute updates where needed.
• Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges.
• Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field at minimum.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office application; advance Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
• Demonstrate an understanding of basic accounting processes, procedures, and GAAP.
• Experience in PeopleSoft accounting software preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.

Salary Range: $60,000 to $70,000 per year and eligible for discretionary bonus.
