Job Description

Our client, a Professional Employer Organization (PEO), is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team (100% remote role).

QuickBooks Online / Enterprise and Professional Employer Organization (PEO) or high volume professional services bank reconciliations / transaction experience required!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Perform high-volume bank reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of hundreds of daily cash transactions, including customer receipts, payroll disbursements, ACH activity, and other cash movements.
• Prepare, review, and post payroll and revenue journal entries generated from the HRIS system into the general ledger.
• Reconcile cash activity and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records and support timely close processes.
• Assist with external audit requests by preparing schedules, reconciliations, supporting documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Maintain general ledger integrity through account analysis, reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.
• Collaborate with accounting leadership to improve close processes, reduce reconciliation backlogs, and strengthen financial controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting initiatives as needed.
• Work within a fast-paced Professional Employer Organization (PEO) environment, managing complex client-related cash transactions and multi-entity accounting activities.
• Assist with ERP and general ledger integrations while supporting accounting process improvements to accommodate organizational growth.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience required
• QuickBooks Online / Enterprise experience required
• Experience with Professional Employer Organization (PEO) or high volume professional services bank reconciliation / transaction experience required
• Ability to multi-task and learn quickly
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
