A global leader in water, hygiene, and infection prevention solutions is seeking a Logistics Specialist I to support day-to-day shipping and receiving operations at their facility. Our firm is partnering with this client — a well-established organization known for driving sustainability and operational excellence across industrial, healthcare, and commercial industries — to identify a detail-oriented logistics professional who can help maintain the accuracy and efficiency of their supply chain operations. The Logistics Specialist I will play a key role in coordinating logistics activities, maintaining shipment documentation, and ensuring the smooth movement of inbound and outbound products. This position works closely with Customer Service, carriers, vendors, and internal planning teams to resolve issues, communicate schedule changes, and keep operations running on time. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and comfortable balancing routine tasks with urgent priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate day-to-day logistics activities related to shipping and receiving operations.
- Monitor and manage inbound and outbound product movement to ensure accurate tracking and timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate logistics documentation for inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper filing, tracking, and accessibility.
- Prepare, review, and manage Bills of Lading (BOLs) and required shipping documentation for carriers and drivers.
- Coordinate and execute customer shipments, including small parcel preparation and resolution of delivery or shipment discrepancies in partnership with Customer Service.
- Monitor and follow up on non-deliveries, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
- Communicate shipping schedule changes to the logistics and planning departments.
- Communicate with carriers, vendors, and logistics partners regarding scheduling, pickups, and deliveries.
- Handle nightly shipment closures and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
- Identify and escalate logistical issues as needed to support production and customer requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support business operations.
Required Qualifications:
- One or more years of experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, or supply chain support.
- Clerical support experience with a strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
- Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to balance daily work, urgent issues, and follow-up tasks effectively.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision and collaborating across teams.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and think critically in a fast-paced environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior inventory management experience.
- Experience with inbound and outbound load coordination.
- Experience coordinating with carriers and managing dock schedules.
