Job Title: Civil Litigation Paralegal

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our client and play a vital role in supporting their legal practice. This onsite role, with hybrid flexibility after onboarding, is a contract-to-hire opportunity based in Northbrook, IL. The position focuses on providing litigation support, case management, and administrative assistance to ensure smooth trial preparation and efficient case handling.

Compensation:
• $30.00 – $33.00 per hour

Work Schedule:
• Part-time, approximately 20–30 hours per week
• Preferred schedule: Tuesday – Thursday during standard business hours
• Flexible arrangements available, with the potential to grow into full-time and permanent employment

Key Responsibilities of the Civil Litigation Paralegal:
• Manage case files from intake to close, ensuring accuracy and organization
• Draft, format, and electronically file court documents (pleadings, motions, notices) through the Cook County filing system
• Coordinate discovery, including organizing, labeling, producing, and tracking documents
• Maintain litigation calendars, tracking deadlines, hearings, and court appearances
• Conduct legal research and assist in preparing supporting materials and memos
• Utilize dictation software to prepare correspondence and pleadings, with provided transcription tools
• Oversee administrative operations such as scanning, printing, filing, and maintaining digital and paper records

Qualifications and Skills for the Civil Litigation Paralegal:
• Minimum 3 years of civil litigation paralegal experience
• Strong understanding of Cook County filing procedures and litigation rules
• Proficiency with legal terminology and ability to transcribe dictation accurately
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage cases independently
• Tech-savvy with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems
• Reliable work ethic and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
• JD or law degree holders will be considered only if they also bring proven paralegal experience
