Custodian

Job Description:

This position provides the full range of basic custodial tasks in three City facilities: City Hall, Police Department and Public Works. Responsibilities include cleaning, sanitizing and straightening using proper methods, materials and provided equipment.

Qualifications:

· Knowledge of cleaning and maintenance practices and standards.

· Oral and written communication skills in English.

· Ability to follow oral and written directions and make decisions related to general cleaning practices and department procedures.

· Ability to operate equipment used in daily work.

· Ability to work independently and organize the daily routine with strong attention to detail.

· Skill in time management and attention to detail.

· At least one (1) year of custodial work experience.

· Valid driver’s license or state identification

· Pass pre-employment physical, drug test and background test

Responsibilities:

· Collects and disposes of trash

· Dusts, vacuums, mops floors using appropriate equipment

· Performs custodial tasks in offices, kitchens, lobbies and common areas

· Cleaning, sanitizing and restocking restrooms

· Report any maintenance or repairs needed

· Washes glass windows and partitions

· Dusts woodwork, walls and furniture

· Ensure all areas are presentable and ready for use

· Other duties as assigned

Hours: 5:00am – 11am is ideal- but flexible for afternoon/evening conversation.

Typically, 3 days a week - six-hour shifts- scheduled every other day.

Salary: $21 per hour- Max 18hrs a week.
