Role at a Glance

• Work Location: On-site in Mundelein, Illinois
• Shift Schedule: Train on 1st shift (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM) for 4–6 months; then move to 2nd shift (4:00 PM – 2:30 AM)
• Compensation: $23.00/hour starting; increases to $25.50/hour after training when on 2nd shift

FLSA Classification

• Position Type: Full-Time (Non-Exempt)

Core Duties

• Run forming equipment (cold heading, hot forming, and related machinery) following established procedures
• Set up tools and make precise adjustments to achieve target rates and quality
• Inspect in-process and finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and visual checks
• Monitor machine health, complete routine maintenance, and prevent unplanned downtime
• Capture accurate production and inspection data in logs or electronic systems
• Partner with Quality and Maintenance to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and 5S-aligned work area; follow all safety protocols

Capabilities and Competencies

• Mechanical aptitude and strong, practical problem-solving
• Ability to read part drawings and production specs
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
• Attention to detail; steady performance under pressure
• Fundamental troubleshooting and machine adjustment skills
• Clear communication and teamwork orientation

Required Background

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior experience in manufacturing/production
• Comfort with physical work (lift up to 40 lbs; prolonged standing)
• Ability to work the assigned shift and overtime when needed
• Basic math and reading comprehension

Preferred Background

• Experience with cold headers, hot formers, or similar forming equipment
• Familiarity with lean, 5S, or continuous improvement
• Metal forming or automotive manufacturing experience
