About the Role

As the Pharmacist-in-Charge , you’ll manage day-to-day pharmacy operations, lead a talented and supportive staff, and uphold the highest legal and clinical standards. This position is ideal for a proactive pharmacist ready to elevate patient care and operational excellence in a well-established community setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all pharmacy operations, ensuring full compliance with Illinois Board of Pharmacy and federal guidelines

• Deliver hands-on patient care through prescription verification, personalized counseling, and medication therapy management (MTM)

• Lead, train, and mentor pharmacy staff to maintain outstanding performance and customer satisfaction

• Utilize PioneerRx software to manage workflow, inventory, and reporting efficiently

• Supervise compliance packaging using Dispill to promote medication safety and adherence

• Coordinate weekday deliveries for patients and partner facilities, ensuring courteous and timely service

• Maintain meticulous records of prescriptions, controlled substances, and audits

• Develop and refine operational policies to support accuracy, safety, and regulatory excellence

• Build positive relationships with patients, medical providers, and the broader Mt. Vernon community

What You’ll Bring

• PharmD degree from an accredited institution

• Active Illinois pharmacist license in good standing

• 5+ years of experience in retail pharmacy or community practice

• Previous experience as a pharmacy manager or PIC preferred

• Strong understanding of pharmacy law, DEA and state compliance, and controlled substance management

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

• Familiarity with PioneerRx and Dispill systems (preferred but not required)
